Authorities in Thailand WILL BE RESTRICTING alcohol sales during Songkran

According to "Coconuts Bangkok" the decision has been made to set up alcohol free zones...parts of Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket to be affected.

Included in these dry spots (an ironic designation during Songkran) will be Bangkok’s Khao San, Rama Nine and Silom roads.
Parts of Pattaya and Phuket will be subjected to the dry spell as well.

Deputy national police chief Ruangsak Jaritek said on Monday that revelers will be allowed to enter these areas, but only if they park their vehicles outside of the safe zones’ boundaries. Anyone caught driving or riding in a car while under the influence of alcohol will be subject to six months’ imprisonment or a THB30,000 fine.

These strict measures have been undertaken in an effort to increase road safety during the “seven dangerous days” of the Songkran holiday.

Police will set up roughly 12,000 security checkpoints throughout Thailand in order to help curtail drunk driving and push this year’s count of road-related fatalities downwards.

The Bangkok Post reports that last year, police countermeasures reduced traffic accidents during Songkran by 5%, though an accident reduction target has not been set for this year.

Thailands Pattaya and Jomtien Beaches...Oh how they are being missed

Hello to all readers, Pattaya Real Estate Market clients and advertisers. I have been unfortunately out on an assignment until around the 10th of next month.

Business is as usual as both Khun Sa and Khun Naan are there handling things. I am being forwarded messages and in the loop despite the very poor internet out here offshore. Please check back on the blog as i will be forwarded updates and able to help with translation I  will still be updating this blog as much as i can in addittion to the forsaleinpattaya.blogspot.com and forrentinpattaya.blogspot.com blogs.

Having been stuck in a hotel in a remote town for the last three weeks in Malaysia made me realise just how much Pattaya and Jomtien have grown.
For example.
                   It was a 700B cab ride to the nearest atm machine.  

                  Beer was on average 180B for a big bottle of Tiger and 22B for Heineken.$$$.

                  We had 15-30 minute waits for taxis, no sorng taews or motorbike taxis anywhere. Often very difficult to get one to come pick us up in an offbeat area.

As much as Pattaya and Jomtien have grown and as much as the congestion is building at least there is almost always cheap public transportation available, and a 7-11 close by not to mention the plethora of atm machines and the convenient access to your money. Looking forward to getting back. Thanks for all the support from our friends, family, clients, and advertisers!

Reaching Pattaya and beyond

The question posed to me many times is "why should we pay you for advertising?"

It is a good question. I hear - "We diversify our advertising enough already!" Developers and Real Estate Agencies already pay to advertise in local magazines, bill boards, news papers, television and radio, and high cost booths in shopping malls. 

Are you seeing the common denominator here? This is all local advertising! What about those that are not in the immediate or approximate area?? How do you reach them?

Again the common answer, "we have a website of our own". "We have a Facebook page, we Tweet."

The truth is if i'm looking for a property i am not looking to Facebook...maybe to get an idea. Most will Google some kind of search. We look to reach those outside Thailand as well, weather they are looking for a holiday rental, short term rental, long term rental, or to buy, we can reach them and get them right to what they are looking for. 

We currently have a database of over 2500 on and offshore contract workers and this is continually growing! We also have a network of blogs and articles published regularly in both English and Thai. We are more than just another website to advertise on, we have a marketing network to deliver niche specific potential customers to you!

International arrivals to Thailand remain strong

 The global economy slowdown has had little impact on tourist arrivals to Thailand. The Kingdom had a total of 8,871,930 visitor arrivals for the period of January through May 2012, up 7.27% compared to the same period in 2011. China was the best performer with 943,161 visitors, up 26.13% with the largest market share for an individual country of 10.63%.


The overall growth remains strong for Thai tourism with visitor arrivals to Thailand from all European countries of 2,690,783, a 10.9% increase for the period January through May 2012, according to the latest figures released by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. European countries, even with the Eurozone crisis, accounted for a market share of 30.33%, up from 29.33% for the same period in 2011. Read more...

Ultra Modern New Lowrise Condo going up in Na Jomtien
